Covid Vaccine Update

Big Needle Post
As more and more seniors are now qualifying to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, here are some important things to know:

  1. Medicare beneficiaries have no out-of-pocket costs for the COVID-19 vaccine.
  2. Medicare pays the full cost of the COVID-19 vaccine, and any associated administrative costs, for Medicare beneficiaries.
  3. Providers and pharmacies must bill Medicare directly for the costs of the COVID-19 vaccine, even if the beneficiary is enrolled on a Med Advantage plan.
  4. Medicare beneficiaries will likely be asked to present their Medicare card when receiving a COVID-19 vaccine (again, even if they are enrolled on a Med Advantage plan).
